Every iPhone and iPad Cellular has a unique code, known as the IMEI number. The letters IMEI stand for International Mobile Station Equipment Identity, and the number is used to identify each mobile phone.
Getting to know the IMEI of your iPhone and iPad Cellular is a useful trick. And if you are unlocking your iPhone you may need to know the IMEI. There are several different ways to find the IMEI of an iPhone; here are the three most useful techniques to know.
Find your iPhone’s IMEI: Dial this code into the Phone app

You can retrieve the iPhone’s IMEI number by dialing the code *#06# into the Phone app. Follow these steps to get your iPhone’s IMEI number:
  1. Open Phone app.
  2. Tap Keypad.
  3. Enter *#06#.
The IMEI code will appear on the screen.

The iMEI number is also located in the iPhone Settings. Using the iPhone Settings is the best option because it enables you to copy and paste the number. Follow these steps:
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General > About.
  3. Scroll down to locate the IMEI number.
  4. Tap and hold the IMEI number to bring up a Copy bubble.
  5. Tap Copy.
Now you can paste the IMEI code into another app, such as Notes.

You can also find the IMEI number using iTunes. Follow these steps:
  1. Connect the iPhone to a Mac using the USB cable.
  2. Click on Devices in the top right and choose iPhone.
  3. Make sure the Summary tab is selected.
Click on the Phone Number in the top box (below Capacity, and above Serial Number). It will change to display the IMEI number. You can then right-click this and choose Copy.
